Right, there has been some talks about the CFML advisory board and why no one of the OpenBD Steering Committee has been asked to join and contribute.
Over at Sean Corfield’s blog we have started to debate on that and now Ben Forta (Mr. Coldfusion himself) took the time and energy to write a rather lengthy post about this issue. As I have already stated in the comments I thank Ben for this step and I think it is a good move of Ben.
You do need to read the comments to see what is going on with OpenBD.

One thing I think the OBD group does not seem to understand is that it is difficult for others to understand (maybe even believe) that New Atlanta has nothing whatsoever to do with OBD.
You can say it until you are blue in the face (pun intended), but some will just not completely buy it. I admit, I have a difficult time seperating the 2 and I am good friends with several curent and former members of the steering committee, whom I have spoken to at length about OBD and New Atlanta’s position, or lack thereof, in the project.
Here is an idea…change the name to something that does not sound like a product offered by New Atlanta.
@Scott
I hear you.
Just changing a name does not change the attitude towards a project and the “vibes” around it.
I guess at this point all we can do is to show the community that we are serious and offer a engine and applications with it that holds up to the promises.
Time will show that we are not controlled by anything else then the steering committee.
I think we have shown in the recent past that we are open to the community, maybe it is now time that the community sees our efforts and opens up as well?
