SixSigns introduces open source forum software called Kabunto

SixSigns, the company that also released Razuna – the open source digital asset management with integrated content management, introduced today their new open source application, a forum software called “Kabunto”.

Kabunto is a full featured open source forum application that comes with a strong AntiSpam system, a plugin system that supports the full customization of the look and feel of the forum, support for an unlimited numbers of forums and categories, is UTF-8 capable and supports an unlimited number of languages. Kabunto is also built as a multi-host system, meaning you won’t need to install a new Kabunto for each host.

Kabunto is available as a Standalone application (or as a WAR/EAR file) which installs in under 2 minutes, no joke! There is no database setup involved as Kabunto uses a high performance embedded database. In other words you can deploy your forum within minutes without much configuring any web server or database.

Kabunto’s customers will be able to run Kabunto on any Windows, MacOS X or Linux server. All kinds of systems are supported, both for deployment and for using the application since the browser of your choice is the only tool you will need.

Please find below two videos of Kabunto. The first one will show you how to deploy Kabunto within minutes and the second will give a short overview of the system itself and how to create your first forums. A live example of the forum can be seen over at our very own forums for SixSigns http://forums.sixsigns.com/. Also, make sure you visit the dedicated website of Kabunto.

We welcome any developers who want’s to join us in delivering first class open source applications built with CFML.
