03.26.07Timeout on cfstoredproc, cfquery and in generalWhile working on importing video data into the Oracle database I came upon an continued error message from ColdFusion that went like (among others): "The request has exceeded the allowable time limit Tag: CFSTOREDPROC" This was strange because I have used the code in question for a long time and uploaded even large video files (50MB or more) to the database without problems. 08.12.06Spry 1.3 released featuring EffectsHaven't seen a post about this, so I am posting this here now. Adobe released Spry 1.3 now at Adobe Labs. They have now added the "Effects" to Spry in this release. You can see some demos of the Effects right here. Together with the easy syntax to build Ajax applications and the effects now there is no excuse anymore not to use Spry :-)

06.22.06Presentation of Flex with ColdFusion onlineI think about a month or so ago Ben Forta was here in Switzerland and did a two hour session on Flex with ColdFusion. It was an interessting evening, but I think some of us were amazed but at the same time bewildered how ColdFusion integrates with Flex. 05.14.06When cfforms don’t work on a CF serverI have had this problem for some time now that on our Windows 2003 Server all validations did not work. Meaning the cfform with input and required="yes" did not work at all. I have looked around but could not find a solution up to now. It is even a simple one. If this happens to you too then just do the following steps: Run Remove_ALL_connectors.bat usually located at C:\CFusionMX7\bin\connectors\ to remove all connectors from all websites. Run IIS_connector.bat also found in C:\CFusionMX7\bin\connectors\ which will add all connectors to all websites again. I have done this now and all forms work again. Great.

02.16.06Part one: Storing images in Oracle with ColdFusionThis is the first part of a "how-to" of storing images with Oracle's Intermedia feature from ColdFusion. To start of we already explained in an earlier post that Oracle has a feature called "Intermedia" which allows for advanced image manipulation trough PL/SQL. Thus with Intermedia we can manipulate images directly within the database without retrieving them first. Also, we can stream images to ColdFusion directly from Oracle without downloading them first. Ok, so off we go with an explanation of how to store images in the database.
