04.28.08Fusebox: xfa overwrite possibleJust a quick note that Fusebox 5.x allows to have also the XFA value set with "overwrite=false". With this you are able to use xfa like this: <xfa name="submitform" value="c.add" overwrite="false" /> I have not seen this in the documentation and thus mention it here.

10.27.07December 1st is FuseBox DaySean Corfield announced that he will release FuseBox 5.5 on December 1st. If you want you can go ahead and download the public Beta Version of 5.5 already over at the FuseBox site. Sean said that he is still looking for more beta testers since there are only a couple of bugs reported. Well Sean, we have been running our applications with FuseBox 5.5 for some time now and I have to say that there are no serious bugs around. Nice job of what I like to think the best framework around for ColdFusion.

09.10.07FuseBox 5.5 Alpha 2 availableFusebox 5.5 Alpha 2 is now available as a download from the files section of the Fusebox 5 mailing list on Yahoo! Groups. You can read the up-to-date release notes (PDF, 188Kb) to see what's available in the new release! The release notes cover all of the major new features (XML is optional, circuits can be CFCs, dynamic "do", Application.cfc integration) as well minor enhancements (XFA support via the event object, official support for assertions, stack traces for exceptions in the debug trace, new "shortcut" methods on myFusebox) and bug fixes.

08.24.07We heart FuseBoxFor our "soon to be announced" application we have been using the latest version of FuseBox together with the latest Version of ColdFusion and its integrated AJAX functionalities. FuseBox allowed us to work with the MVC (Model-View-Controller) concept and using our CFC (ColdFusion Components) with the class and the new instantiate tags. Once we got used to how FuseBox calls objects and uses them, it made our development time faster and the coding more structured. FuseBox 5.5 will make it possible to use the framework without any XML configuration. Personally, I don't see why the XML configuration gets people all worked up on, but see for yourself.
