  Update on the Uptodate program for MacOS X 10.5 Apple | (0)

  Looks to me that US/Canadian customers are more in luck for the uptodate program then European ones. Here in Europe that uptodate program ends tomorrow (December 29th) and for US/Canadian customers it has been extended up to January 26, 2008.

  Another virtualization environment Apple, Applications | (0)

  I guess by now a lot of you know that there are virtualization solutions from Parallels and VMWare out there. Just today I found another player in the market and it is even an Open Source solution under the GNU license. So if you want to try out the new kid on the block then head over to VirtualBox and grab your copy of their virtualization product. Good thing it is available on Windows, Linux and MacOS X. We haven't tried it yet, but sure will do so.

  Internet Explorer on the Mac Apple, Applications | (0)

  There is a "new" way to run Internet Explorer on the Mac "natively". Actually this way of running Internet Explorer will save you tonnes of time, since you don't need to start up VMWare Fusion (or Parallels) just to look at a web site with Internet Explorer.   MacOS X 10.5.1 Update is here Apple | (0)

  It was rumored for some time now that Apple will bring an update as soon as possible for 10.5 and now it is here. So go and grab it over at Softwareupdate or  at the Apple Website for 10.5.1. So far from reading what has been improved I don't see a lot of things fixed that people mentioned on various blogs but let's see. Make sure to have a backup before updating.

  There is a serious bug with the "move file" operation on 10.5; "if for whatever reason your target disk gets disconnected during a file move -- a USB or Firewire cable is yanked, power failure, or a network interruption for a remote server volume -- you're likely to have problems with your moved files.   Discussion on installing ColdFusion on Leopard Apple, CFML | (0)

  Apparently there are a lot of people who have upgraded to Leopard and can not get ColdFusion 8 running anymore. We have also updated to Leopard from Tiger and have no issues with ColdFusion 8 running. The difference might be that we never depend on the built in Apache server from Apple (because Apple updates the system and don't care what developers think) but have compiled and installed Apache 2.2.4 according to this instructions. Also over at Mark Drew's Blog there are some instruction how to get it running.
