The vulnerability is not public but it will be shortly. In addition to the security fix, 2.5.1 contains many bug fixes. 03.29.08Final Wordpress 2.5 availableThe final version of Wordpress 2.5 is now available. there are a lot of changes, but the most prominent one is the new look of the dashboard. The team also states that it has redesigned the administration to "blend" more in and be less "in your face". I personally liked the "old" look and feel, but it remains to be seen how it will work day to day. The upgrade worked perfectly. Well, I have to admit that we use subversion to install Wordpress and we simply had to switch the taged version to get to Wordpress 2.5.

03.05.08Some problems with sending mail with WordpressWe wondered since a couple of days, why we are not receiving any emails anymore from our blog here. Usually we receive a couple of comments a days and thus it was strange that nothing came in. Looking at the php.ini I saw that everything was setup correctly, but still mails did not get sent. Looking further we tried to configure sendmail and set the "smart_host" value. This is done by entering the correct SMTP-Server in the sendmail.mc file and using "make -C /etc/mail" to compile it (Note: remove the "dln" BEFORE the line. "dln" is a comment tag!). 02.09.08Moving Wordpress installation from Windows Server 2003 to LinuxWe just finished moving our blog (the one you are reading now) from Windows Server 2003 to CentOS 5. The switch included a couple of steps, but was rather easy: Install CentOS with Apache, PHP and MySQL. CentOS does install Apache 2.2.3, PHP 5.1.6 and MySQL 5.0.22 by default. Make sure to "yum update" to get the latest stable packages. Make a backup of all your Wordpress database on the original server. To do this we used the excellent "wp-db-backup".
